It was amazing to see the powerful witnessing the Amish did in the aftermath of the murders of six of their children. The supernatural spirit of the Holy Spirit was on full display for mere mortals could have not dealt with the murderer and his family as they have done. It is impossible for the world to comprehend because as the Word says, it does not know Him.
The Today Show had a special segment on forgiveness as a result of the Amish actions and included a Presbyterian minister and a rabbi. They assured the audience that you didn't have to be religious and anyone could learn to forgive with practice. They even gave , if I recall correctly, six steps to learn to forgive. It was quite similar to any magazine article, You Too Can Learn with Just Six Easy Steps How to Forgive Anyone No Matter What They've Done!!!
Matt Laurer,in an effort to understand, asked if they thought the Amish were "emotionally disconnected".
On another segment, an expert on the Amish, announced that heaven was as real to them as New York or Chicago is to us. It was apparent that this was supposed to be astonishing news to everyone. How we have failed as non Amish Christians to convey that we believe that as well.
